CASTINE – Nate Carter of Husson scored in the first half and Maine Maritime’s Mark Knight responded a minute later as the Eagles and Mariners tied 1-1 in men’s soccer action Wednesday.
Tony Thompson was credited with the assist on Carter’s goal for the 11-3-3 Eagles. Jon Cowin and Bradley Ala combined to make two saves on 15 shots.
Luke McPartlin made two saves on 16 shots for the 0-11-4 Mariners.

At Fort Kent, Matt Petrie headed in a Jared Griffith cross in the eighth minute to lead the University of Maine at Presque Isle past the University of Maine at Fort Kent.
Scott Clancy made 11 saves on 27 shots for the 6-5-1 Owls
Derrick Plourde stopped five of eight shots for the 10-2 Bengals.
Southern Maine 6, Thomas 2
At Waterville, Sinisa Bajic had a goal and an assist as the University of Southern Maine downed Thomas.
Cassidy Neal, Gabe Labbe, Dewar Wilson, Josh Amoroso and Colin Reilly netted a goal apiece. Ben Slagle, Burke Hazard, Greg Cox and Josh Jameson each notched an assist and Chris Willard and Steve May combined to make two saves on five shots.
Tim Costa scored two goals and Brad Wagner-Lefevre tallied an assist. Russell Beckwith made five saves on 22 shots for the Terriers.
Stony Brook 3, Maine 0
At Stony Brook, N.Y., Rich Skoblicki and Brian Tepfer only had to make one save on five shots as Stony Brook shut out Maine.
Oscar Leis, Michael Palacio and Pete Malkidis all scored for the 6-11 Seawolves.
Ben Piotrowski stopped seven of 17 shots for 0-16 Maine.

At Farmington, Ashley Tetrault scored midway through the second half to lift UMaine-Farmington over Maine Maritime Academy.
With the win, the Beavers improve to 11-6 and the Mariners drop to 8-4-2.
Colby 1, Southern Maine 0
At Gorham, Liz Morbeck scored the only goal of the match in the first half to give Colby the win over Southern Maine.
Liza Benson stopped both shots she faced for the 7-2-3 Mules.
The Huskies drop to 5-9.
Field hockey
USM 2, Framingham State 0
At Gorham, Caitlin Albert and Nicole Bombardi scored second-half unassisted goals to lift the University of Southern Maine to victory over Framingham State College.
Allie Hill blocked four of seven shots for the 8-8 Huskies.
Lindsay McKeamey made five saves on 11 shots for the 5-9 Rams.
UNE 4, Husson 3
At Biddeford, Lisa Baillargeon and Nicole Mace each had a goal and an assist as the University of New England held off Husson.
Mary Coffin and Megan Sevey added a goal apiece for the 7-6 Nor’Easters. Beth Brooks made 16 saves on 19 shots.
KarolAnne Emery scored a pair of goals for the 7-6 Eagles and Erica Dorso added another. Kelly Bocchino had 11 saves on 15 shots.
