When there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call?

River City Cinema!

The group has teamed up with Penobscot Theatre Company and Mike & Mike of Kiss 94.5 for a hair-raising fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for children and are available now at the Penobscot Theatre Box office or by calling 942-3333.

The Saturday night fright begins at 6 p.m. Oct 21 at the Bangor Opera House with a magic show by Bob Brown, followed by real Maine ghost stories from the Bangor Museum and Center for History. And you thought Stephen King had the corner on that market.

Then, for the first time in more than 20 years, “Ghostbusters” returns to the big screen. For those of you old enough to remember, this film needs no introduction. For the youngsters, it’s a slime-slinging, ghost-zapping comedy of epic (the 120-foot-tall Sta-Puft marshmallow man definitely counts as epic) proportions.

Eat popcorn, sip soda, relive all those ectoplasmic moments – just try not to scream too loudly. After all, you ain’t ‘fraid of no ghost.
