CANAAN – Firefighters from surrounding communities were called to Maple Lane late Friday night for a report of a building that was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were still at the scene at 10 p.m., about an hour after the fire was first reported, and they were expected to be there for quite a while, an official said. The fire was reported by a neighbor.
