Man held after fight over photo

A fight over a family photo resulted in police arresting a Bangor man for assault Monday.

Police reports state that a woman came to the Bangor police station at approximately 1 p.m. to report that her ex-husband had assaulted her.

Timothy Fairbrother Jr., 30, had gone to her house to retrieve some clothing and photographs. The victim told police that there was a family photo she did not want him to have because they were no longer together.

According to police reports, they went upstairs so they would not be arguing in front of their young daughter. The victim repeated that Fairbrother could not have the photograph and went back downstairs. At that point, Fairbrother followed her, pinned her to a wall and headbutted her, she said. She had a slight bump on the middle of her forehead along her hairline.

Police reports indicate that Fairbrother turned himself in at the station at approximately 2 p.m., after the victim informed him he was going to be arrested. He confirmed the victim’s story and was arrested for assault.

Fairbrother was taken to Penobscot County Jail and made bail the same afternoon.

An accident in Newburgh Sunday night ended with both drivers being taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Ann Miller, 77, of Corinth, was stopped at a stop sign at the junction of Route. 169 and Route 9 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Christopher Price, 17, was driving south on Route 9 when Miller pulled out in front of him in a 2002 Buick sedan. Price struck the side of Miller’s vehicle, resulting in approximately $4,000 in damage to the left side of the sedan and approximately $3,000 in damage to the front of Price’s 2000 Chevrolet pickup.

Miller was transported by community ambulance to EMMC with unspecified, nonlife threatening injuries. Price was also taken to EMMC by his parents for treatment of the injuries.
