BUCKSPORT – The school committee on Tuesday expelled two students who created a CD containing violent lyrics about a shooting spree at Bucksport High School.

Committee members deliberated the case of each student separately, finishing late Tuesday night.

Expulsion was effective immediately and the committee also barred the two 17-year-old boys from attending any high school activities.

Deliberation was held in closed session and several residents waited outside the superintendent’s office for the decisions. Although they expressed concern for the futures of the two students involved, they were relieved by the school board’s action.

“I’m glad,” said one mother, after the case of the first student was announced. “My daughter will be relieved that that child will not be coming back to school.”

Police have charged the two boys with terrorizing. The CD described shooting administrators, students and teachers at the school. The initial complaint came to police from a concerned parent, according to Sgt. Sean Geagan of the Bucksport Police Department.
