Inn good taste

Want to sink your teeth into a good book? Now is your chance: The Brooklin Inn will hold a book dinner with cookbook author Brooke Dojny of Sedgwick. The event celebrates her recent release “Dishing Up Maine,” which features the inn’s Finnan Haddie. “Dishing Up Maine” is a tour of the state’s restaurants and their unique flavors – much more than lobsters and clams. The book dinner will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. For information, call 359-2777.

Home for the holidays

There’s no place like home, and Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse’s “Come Home for the Holidays” sweepstakes will allow one lucky winner to receive $1,500 in gift cards to cover travel expenses and a holiday shopping spree. Diners can enter to win by visiting Bugaboo Creek from Oct. 30 to Dec. 1 and submitting their story as to why they deserve a trip home to see family and friends this holiday season. Bugaboo Creek Steak House will randomly select five entries from each restaurant location. The winning entry will be determined based on set judging criteria provided in the sweepstakes official rules.
