Veazie police summoned three teenagers recently in connection with a burglary earlier this month and are investigating whether they were involved in other incidents in town since the summer.

One of the teenagers has already admitted to being involved in a handful of other incidents, including breaking a window at the Veazie Community School, overturning soccer goals, burning clothing outside the school and setting fire to a chair underneath a bridge, according to police.

That 15-year-old was summoned for criminal mischief Wednesday, Veazie police Officer Timothy Shaw said. The teenager and the two others, both also 15-years-old, were each summoned on a burglary charge for the Oct. 14 burglary of a shed outside the school.

A cooler containing $20 in soda was taken from the open shed, Shaw said. The three teenagers were summoned that night on a tobacco violation by Veazie police Officer Gary Morin after he found them carrying soda and smoking cigarettes.

The shed burglary wasn’t reported until three days later on Oct. 17, prompting police to focus on the teenagers, Shaw said.

There have been a dozen or more incidents since the summer and Shaw said that investigators are looking into whether they or others were involved.

An employee with Lane Construction reported to Bangor police Wednesday that 1,000 feet of copper wire was taken from their operations on Odlin Road. The copper wire was valued at $1,700, or $17 a foot, according to the police report.
