GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Phoenix Coyotes recalled goalie David LeNeveu from San Antonio on Thursday, one day after waiving backup goaltender Mike Morrison.

The 23-year-old LeNevue played in 13 games for Phoenix last season with a 3-8-2 record and 3.24 goals against average. He will be the new backup to starter Curtis Joseph.

The Coyotes, 2-8 overall, have lost four in a row heading into Thursday night’s game against Edmonton.

Morrison, a former University of Maine star, has cleared waivers and will be assigned to San Antonio, the Coyotes’ AHL.
