Daniel is an 8-year-old who takes pleasure in many different activities. He enjoys being outdoors and riding his bike, playing inside with his Yugio cards, attending karate class and swimming, especially in a lake.
Daniel also likes video games and watching TV and movies.
Daniel is a big baseball fan. He loves the Red Sox, and Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz are his favorite players.
This little boy is mainstreamed in school and is on grade level for his school work. He sometimes requires extra attention during the school day to remain on task, but is able to complete the work. Daniel receives speech services during his school day as well. His favorite part of the school day is recess because he can play with his friends. Daniel is a sensitive boy. He is able to identify his feelings and can talk about how things make him feel. He has regular visits with his brother, Isaac, and would like to find a family that would love and care for them both.
Daniel will do best in a family that can provide a consistent, structured home. He does require extra time to transition between activities, but responds well when given time to make the right decision. He also responds well to prompts about what is happening next.
Daniel has maintained a relationship with his grandmother and wishes to find a family that would allow him to have regular visits with her.
An adoption subsidy is available for the most appropriate family. Daniel is one of the 155 children in Maine Department of Health and Human Service’s care who is seeking an adoptive family.
Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
