Who targets TABOR?

Ordinarily I wouldn’t get involved with TABOR. The recent revelation that a million dollars from out of state is being pumped in to oppose this citizen’s initiative has raised a red flag. Who, out of state, could possibly benefit from its failure to pass?

The first culprit to come to mind would be one of the major political parties which are using this method of funneling money into a campaign. Another possible suspect could be the politician’s benefactor, the lobbyist. There has to be a payback somewhere.

Advertisements warn of drastic cuts in education, firemen and policemen, all considered hot-button issues. Surprisingly, they haven’t included the more obvious, extinction of motherhood and apple pie.

Whatever the outcome on voting day, it is time for the voters to slow down the money faucet and make their elected officials more accountable on the way they spend our money. We all have to live within our means. This should apply to government, too.
