DOVER, N.H. – Authorities are investigating the death of a prisoner at the Strafford County Jail during the weekend.

Deputy Sheriff Joseph DiGregorio said the death of Michael Hehir of Newington, 21, apparently was a suicide. A corrections officer found Hehir unresponsive in his cell Saturday.

Hehir was being held on fugitive charges out of Maine, where he was one of two people implicated in an armed robbery in Lewiston.
