AUGUSTA – Maine political candidates were trumpeting a mix of endorsements as the campaign entered its final week.
On Tuesday, the Maine Association of Police announced endorsements of a Democrat and a Republican. The police group supports Democratic Gov. John Baldacci’s re-election and Republican congressional candidate Darlene Curley’s election.
A day earlier, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gave its blessing to 1st House District challenger Curley.
Meanwhile, the Children’s Defense Fund Action Council gave 1st District incumbent Democratic Rep. Tom Allen a perfect score of 100 percent on its nonpartisan congressional 2005 report card.
