MMA to celebrate achievement Nov. 9

CASTINE – Maine Maritime Academy will hold its annual Celebration of Achievement banquet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Harold Alfond Student Center.

The banquet will be preceded by a reception at 6 p.m. at the President’s House.

David G. Skaves, professor of engineering, will be presented with the first Excellence in Teaching Award. Eleven students will be named Henry A. Scheel Scholars, and three graduates will be inducted into the alumni Wall of Honor.

Joceline Boucher, professor of marine chemistry, will be recognized for her contributions to the coordination of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges 2006 Self Study process.
