ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Ibrahim Faryah’s shot deflected off a Unity College defender and glanced into the net 30 minutes into the game and Adrian Gonzalez added an insurance goal off a direct free kick in the second half as Rochester College triumphed over Unity 2-0 in the United States College Athletic Association Men’s Soccer tournament.

Dave Ristich wasn’t required to make a save on three Unity shot attempts.

Tyler Ferguson finished with eight saves on 15 shots for the Rams.

“They were, by far, the most skilled team we’ve played this year,” said Unity coach Gary Zane, whose Rams will play the winner of the Presentation College-Robert Morris of Illinois game on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the double-elimination tourney. “We got better throughout the game. We adjusted to the speed. We responded well to keep it at 2-0.”

Center midfielder Matt Belonick and forward Ryan Howes were named All-Americans at the Wednesday night banquet.
