Orono police arrested former University of Maine baseball player Ryan Quintal early Friday morning, charging him with violating bail conditions.

The 22-year-old Quintal struggled with police when they arrested him, and he also was charged with refusing to submit to arrest, according to police.

Quintal was prohibited from drinking or possessing alcohol as part of bail conditions stemming from a May arrest on a drunken driving charge and a subsequent bail violation arrest, Sgt. Scott Scripture of the Orono Police Department said Friday.

Quintal was seen drinking early Friday morning, but ran from police into an apartment at Orchard Trails. Officer Jason Zalva and Scripture were allowed into the apartment where Quintal was in the bathroom, refusing to come out.

The police got the door open and Quintal out, but he continued to be belligerent, banging his head on the cruiser, Scripture said.

A Lincoln woman rolled her Dodge Stratus on Interstate 95 around 4 p.m. Sunday while trying to change lanes.

The vehicle was traveling north in the driving lane in Veazie when the 60-year-old woman tried to move into the passing lane. She checked her mirrors, saw no other cars and moved to the left. At the last minute, she saw a van close to her and steered to the right, going off the road and rolling a couple of times, landing right side up.

A passer-by helped her out of the vehicle. State police closed the travel lane for about a half-hour.

The woman was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with complaints of pain in her head and left shoulder. According to a nursing supervisor, the woman was treated and released the same evening.

An Orono man was arrested for disorderly conduct around 11:30 Saturday after a verbal fight with his wife in the middle of Allen Road in Orono.

According to reports, James Clark, 28, of Orono made banging noises on the outside of his wife’s house on College Heights Road. When his wife, who is separated from Clark, looked out an upstairs window to check on the noises, she saw someone leaving the yard. She ran after the person to see who it was. An officer found the two fighting on Allen Road.

Clark was raising his voice and calling his wife names. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.
