CASTINE – Quarterback Brandon Hamilton scored on a 6-yard run with 1 minute, 4 seconds left in the game Saturday to seal Maine Maritime Academy’s season-ending 21-13 New England Football Conference victory over Fitchburg State at Ritchie Field.

Maine Maritime’s Nate Bolduc picked off a Fitchburg State pass with time running and the Mariner defense forced the Falcons to turn the ball over on downs three times in the fourth quarter.

MMA’s Brandon Goodrich ran the ball eight times for a team-best 83 yards. Alex Coulombe caught three passes for 92 yards and two TDs.

Fitchburg State’s Jim Miller completed 20 of his 40 pass attempts for 179 yards and a score.

Husson 28, Becker 3

At Worcester, Mass., Bryan Ferguson racked up 158 yards and two touchdowns on 35 carries as the Eagles closed out the season with a victory over the Hawks.

David Chase completed 16 of 27 passes for 187 yards, including a 1-yard TD pass to P.J. Dowe for Husson College of Bangor, which wound up 6-4. Andre Wildman caught seven passes for 107 yards.

Husson intercepted four Becker passes and held the Hawks to 11 net rushing yards.

Becker’s Darius Carey rushed six times for 40 yards.

Tufts 7, Colby 0

At Somerville, Mass., Kevin Gleason caught a 5-yard pass from Matt Russo with 3:13 left in the game as the Jumbos squeaked past the White Mules.

Brendan George led Tufts with 22 carries for 100 yards.

Colby’s Chris Bashaw tallied 51 yards on 20 carries and Brennan Moore caught four passes for 34 yards.

At Brunswick, Nick Tomaino caught three TD passes to power the Polar Bears past the Bobcats of Lewiston.

Oliver Kell completed 18 of 25 passes for 222 yards and threw touchdown passes of 33, 10 and 3 yards to Tomaino. Jeff Smith rushed for 55 yards.

Jamie Walker led Bates with two touchdown runs and 64 rushing yards. Brandon Colon connected on 20 of 32 passes for 225 yards.
