Brittany Veazie
Junior forward Brittany Veazie of Springfield College has been named the NEWMAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. In the NEWMAC semifinals and finals, Veazie scored four goals and added two assists.
Val Young
Bowdoin defender Val Young was named NESCAC Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week. Young anchored the Polar Bear’s defense that allowed no goals and only two shots on net en route to the 2006 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship. She also had an assist in Sunday’s championship game against Middlebury.
Lindsay McNamara
Sophomore Lindsay McNamara, a forward for Bowdoin College, was named NESCAC Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week. McNamara scored both game-winning goals in a pair of 1-0 victories over the weekend. She leads the NESCAC with 15 goals.
Oliver Kell
Bowdoin College freshman quarterback Oliver Kell has been named the NESCAC Rookie of the Week. Kell went 18-25 for 222 yards and three touchdowns in Bowdoin’s 23-14 win.
Nick Downing
University of Southern Maine’s Nick Downing was named Little East Conference Runner of the Week. Downing was the first LEC runner to cross the finish line at the ECAC Championships, He finished the 8k course in 27:24, for 32nd place.
