Basic training

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Army Reserve Pvt. Michael Spekhardt graduated from basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C., to be a member of the Army National Guard of Reserve Split-option Program. The program allows students between their junior and senior year of high school to attend Army National Guard or Reserve weekend drills while still in school, and to pursue a military career specialty after high school graduation.

Spekhardt, a Bangor High School student, is the son of Stephen Spekhardt of Bangor.

FORT KNOX, Ky. – Army Reserve Pvt. Wesley Comeau graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of James and Laurie Comeau of Old Town.

FORT BENNING, Ga. – Army Pvt. Randy Moran Jr. graduated from basic military training at Fort Benning, Ga., on Oct. 27.

A 2006 graduate of Bangor High School, he is the son of Wendy Conners Moran of Bangor and Randy Moran of Glenburn. His grandparents are Gina and John Conners of Bangor, Janice and Stan Tingley of Kingfield, and Roger Moran of Florida.

Advanced training

PETERSBURG, Va. – Army National Guard Pvt. Adam Nadeau graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

A 2003 graduate of Old Town High School, Nadeau is the son of Aime Nadeau of Winthrop, Mass., and Cindy Nadeau of Argyle.

ABERDEEN, Md. – Army Pvt. Anthony Bailey has graduated from the Utilities Equipment Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

He learned to perform maintenance, test, repair, adjust and inspect gasoline engine systems, utility equipment and special purpose support systems. These include bottle cleaning-charging stations, air conditioning electrical and vapor systems, refrigeration unit electrical systems, portable heater fuel-electrical systems, and fire extinguisher rechargers and valves.

He is the son of Robert Bailey of Bangor and Rolande Motola of Rockville, Conn.
