PORTLAND – Portland Sea Dogs manager Todd Claus has been named Baseball America’s Minor League Baseball Manager of the Year. Claus was selected from all 176 Minor League Baseball teams for the honor.

Claus, 37, had already been named the Double-A Manager of the Year on Sept. 27 after leading Portland to a 72-67 record and franchise’s first Eastern League championship.

Next year, Claus will serve at the Boston Red Sox Major League Advance Scout. He will split time handling the advance scouting duties and serving as a coaching assistant to Terry Francona and the major league staff.
