FORT KENT – Dr. Rachel E. Albert, University of Maine at Fort Kent’s vice president of academic affairs, and Lisa A. Theriault, assistant professor of nursing, are authors of chapters in a new textbook, “Communicating and the Therapeutic Relationship and Nutrition.”

Albert’s chapter on communication covers topics that include verbal and nonverbal communication, factors that include the communication process, and techniques that enhance or hinder communication.

Theriault’s chapter on nutrition covers topics ranging from carbohydrates, proteins and fats, to assessing nutritional balance, history, and needs for a wide range of patients.

The chapters were written two years ago and took each author months to write. The hard-bound volumes were published this year by F.A. Davis, contain 2,279 pages and cost $89.95.
