Army Pvt. Erik Ettlinger graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. A 2006 graduate of Rockland District High School, Ettlinger is the son of Peter and Jean Ettlinger of Owls Head.

Army Pvt. Jeremy Britton graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. A 2005 graduate of Bangor High School, Britton is the son of Douglas Britton of Bangor and brother of Jason Britton of Glenburn.

Army Reserve Lt. Col. David De Haas has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. De Haas is normally assigned to the 399th Combat Support Hospital in Fort McCoy, Sparta, Wis. A 1974 graduate of Orono High School and 1978 graduate of the University of Maine, De Haas is the son of Herman and Eugenie De Haas of Orono.
