PITTSFIELD – The Pittsfield Town Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, to discuss new business as well as old business carried over from their last meeting, which did not have a quorum.
The council will set public hearings for Dec. 19 to complete the 2007 budget. Although the budget has not been completed, the $1.3 capital budget and the $2.5 million operating budget proposals can be amended at those hearings.
The meeting agenda includes:
. The appointment of Louise Baker as District 4 councilor.
. Accepting a list of election workers.
. Discharging a mortgage for the town’s economic development loan fund for the former TJ’s Sportswear.
. Setting a public hearing for Jan. 2, 2007, to adopt the proposed comprehensive plan update.
. Approval of the construction of a new holding tank at Amerigas on Detroit Avenue.
The second of four budget workshops will be held after regular business Tuesday night. The budgets under scrutiny are public safety, highway and buildings and grounds, recycling and transfer station and water and sewer.
