BANGOR – Chris Banks netted 19 points and James Liebowitz added 16 to lead Southern Maine Community College of South Portland past Eastern Maine Community College 84-67 in men’s basketball action Thursday night.

Josh Madden had 33 points and six steals and Mike Towle nine points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.

At University College at Bangor, Deon Cherrs scored 20 points and recorded six steals to lead the University of Maine at Augusta over Northern Maine Community College of Presque Isle.

Tyler Norris had 18 points and eight rebounds for UM-Augusta. Jon Hill had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Will Changasie added 12 points.

Jason Woodworth paced NMCC with 15 points, and Shawn Lay scored 14. Brooks Brewer had 11 points, and Aaron Wasson added 10.
