GrowSmart president to speak in Orono

Alan Caron, president and CEO of GrowSmart Maine, will talk about the economic challenges and opportunities for Maine at the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce’s next Early Bird Breakfast, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Black Bear Inn in Orono.

GrowSmart sponsored a study of Maine’s economy by the Brookings Institution, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank. The Brookings report, released last month, offers recommendations for state spending and investments, called “Charting Maine’s Future.”
