Husson College freshman Martin Cleveland was named NAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. He scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in leading Husson to a win in the consolation game of the Plymouth State Tournament.

Shelby Pickering

Shelby Pickering of Husson was named NAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She tallied 30 points and nine rebounds in a win over Bridgewater State in the Southern Maine Tournament last weekend.

Rob Stockwell

Bates College senior Rob Stockwell earned NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors. He posted a pair of double-doubles, combining for 36 points and 25 rebounds in two Bates wins at the Williams College Invitational.

Meghan Gillis

Bowdoin College forward Meghan Gillis was named NESCAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week. She scored two goals and handed out two assists in two Bowdoin wins.

Val Beckwith

Bates College sophomore Val Beckwith was named Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association co-Player of the Week. Beckwith garnered Most Valuable Player honors at the Babson College/Irving Oil Tournament after recording a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in the Bobcats’ championship game victory. She scored 21 points in an opening round win against SUNY-Geneseo.

Alyssa Burns

Senior forward Alyssa Burns of Maine Maritime Academy was named Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association co-Player of the Week. Burns was selected Most Valuable Player of the Maine Maritime Academy Invitational after scoring 43 points in the Mariners’ two wins. She scored her 1,000th point in Friday’s game against SUNY-Maritime and totaled 16 steals and 11 rebounds in the two contests.

Caitlyn Laflin

UMaine-Farmington forward Caitlyn Laflin was named Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Rookie of the Week. Laflin averaged 14 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games at the University of Southern Maine Tip-Off Tournament and was named to the all-tournament team. She had 17 points and 10 rebounds in the opening round against Bridgewater State.
