This is a tribute to a legendary bar called the Bounty that was located in the Holiday Inn on Main Street in Bangor. Sadly, it is soon to be torn down and replaced with a new casino-hotel.

For those of you who are too young to remember, during the late ’70s and ’80s the Bounty was Bangor’s “Disco Hot Spot.” The Bounty sported Bangor’s best dancers. Whether you have good or bad memories of the Bounty, it was definitely unique in its day. Many famous and prominent businesspeople danced and socialized there, including our present governor. I met a wonderful man at the Bounty whom I have been married to for 20 years. Share your stories. Farewell to the Bounty!
