Rockland firm wins ferry terminal contract

ROCKLAND – Prock Marine of Rockland has been awarded the contract to rebuild and upgrade ferry facilities at the Rockland ferry terminal, the Department of Transportation announced.

Prock’s $10.2 million bid includes demolishing the existing pier and transfer bridge, and constructing a new pier and two transfer bridges, dolphin structures and fendering, as well as dredging, electrical and mechanical upgrades, and some site work.

The company is expected to begin work in the coming weeks. The project is slated for completion by the end of August 2008.
