DOVER-FOXCROFT – A 17-year-old Guilford girl will serve 30 days at Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston for driving while under the influence of intoxicants.

Jade Morrill, who pleaded guilty to the felony charge this week in 13th District Court in Dover-Foxcroft, was sentenced to the youth center until the age of 18 with all but 30 days suspended. She was placed on probation until she is 18 years old, ordered to pay a $2,100 fine and had her license suspended for six years.

The charge came earlier this year when Morrill lost control of her vehicle on a sharp curve on the Flanders Hill Road, and the vehicle hit some small trees.

A passenger in Morrill’s vehicle, a 17-year-old girl, was injured in the accident. The girl suffered a broken arm and cuts.

Morrill admitted she had consumed alcohol at a Sangerville beach before the accident, according to police reports.
