EDDINGTON – Doors open Saturday morning, Dec. 9 at Tradewinds Variety, a new gas station and convenience store that will soon add a drive-through Dunkin’ Donuts.

“It’s like a little mini grocery store,” manager Malcolm Coulter Jr. said Thursday.

Co-owners Blaine Whitney and Chuck Lawrence are inviting residents and area officials to a ribbon-cutting just before the doors open at the new store, which is at the junction of Routes 46 and 9.

The 4,800-square-foot store has a small deli, a selection of prepared foods, a corner for $1 items, and 16 feet of pet foods, Coulter said.

The Dunkin’ Donuts is approximately 25 percent completed and is scheduled to open later this month or in early January, he said.

“Ninety percent of everything is this store is from the state of Maine,” Coulter said. “It’s a local store and we’ve hired local people.”
