Air Force Airman Ralph L. Himes has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, Himes studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and worked on physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training, and special training in human relations.

Himes is the grandson of Patricia Himes of Stetson and a 2003 graduate of Bangor High School.

Air Force Airman Ashley Ross has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, Ross studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and worked on physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training, and special training in human relations.

Ross is the daughter of Laurie Ross of Hermon and the granddaughter of Joann Hunt of Bucksport. She is a 2006 graduate of Hermon High School.
