DYER BROOK – Chelsea Bates netted a free-throw with 40 seconds remaining as Katahdin of Stacyville earned a pointworthy, early season 41-40 high school girls basketball victory over Southern Aroostook Thursday.
Ronni Robinson paced the Cougars with 13 points while Bates finished with seven.
Erin Caswell led Southern Aroostook with 14 points while Shana Martin added 11 for the Warriors.
