DEXTER – A mother who was called to Dexter Regional High School on Thursday in connection with a verbal argument her daughter had with another student has been charged with criminal threatening.

Paula Taylor, 35, of Dexter will make her initial court appearance in 3rd District Court in Newport on Jan. 24.

Dexter Police Chief Art Roy said Taylor had gone to the school because her daughter had an argument with another student. When she arrived, Taylor became irate and allegedly made threats of harm to the other student, Roy said.

“The school and the Dexter Police Department have a zero tolerance for any type of threats or violence in the school,” Roy said.
