PORTLAND – The Portland Pirates announced Thursday that the American Hockey League team will hold a “Coats for Kids” night at the Cumberland County Civic Center tonight when they play Manchester at 7:05.

The event is part of the WSCH/WLBZ NewsCenter 2 and the Salvation Army’s Coats for Kids program, which provides coats for Maine children during the holiday season.

Donations of new or used children’s coats will be accepted in the Civic Center lobby beginning at 5 p.m. Each fan who donates an item will receive a free pair of tickets to an upcoming regular season home game.
