MOOSEHEAD JUNCTION TOWNSHIP – An unidentified Dover-Foxcroft man who lost his way Sunday when he left a hiking trail near Moose Pond was the subject of a short search.
The man, who was hiking alone, called the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department on his cellular telephone Sunday afternoon and reported that he was near a gate but was unfamiliar with the territory, according to Sgt. Roger Guay of the Maine Warden Service.
Through a process of elimination, wardens found the man at about 7:30 p.m. at the end of the Brouchu Road in Moosehead Junction Township.
