Bangor lawyer to lead NESCOM

BANGOR – Thomas Johnston, a Bangor lawyer, has been elected the New England School of Communications third president, effective Jan. 1, the school located on the Husson College campus announced this week. The board of directors also elected James Goff of Veazie as chairman and John Rohman of Bangor as vice chairman.

Johnston has served as a senior partner and chair of the Employment Law Practice Group of Eaton Peabody for 31 years. He will remain in his position there. He is also a past president of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra board and the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, and a past chair of the boards at both Husson College and the New England School of Communications. He is currently serving as the chief human resource officer and corporate secretary for Husson College.

Goff is the former owner of the Penobscot Broadcasting Corp. and the past president of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra board of directors.

Rohman is president of WBRC Architects-Engineers and chair of the Maine Commission on the Creative Economy.

The New England School of Communications became a subsidiary of Husson College in 1997. It offers associate of science and bachelor of science degree programs in communications.
