Christmas party for Head Start

An exciting event took place at the Muddy Rudder Restaurant in Brewer recently when the Brewer Kiwanis Club held its annual Christmas party for Head Start children.

The 4-year-old children, their siblings and parents enjoyed pizza, macaroni and cheese, orange drink and Christmas cookies.

The highlight of the evening was a visit from Santa, who brought toys for the children. Each child had his or her picture taken with Santa and took the photo home. Approximately 47 children and parents attended the event.

The following people and businesses helped make the event possible: the Brewer Garden Club, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Bangor Wal-Mart, Brewer Wal-Mart, Bob Dion, Kim Long, Rosemary King, Tammy Mishou, Brewer Kiwanis President Kathleen Harding-Heber, Tricia Largay, Paul Cook, Glen Rand, Herb Hopkins and Brewer Police Chief Perry “Santa” Antone.

Kiwanians Manley and Gail DeBeck served as chairmen for purchasing and wrapping toys.
