Pirates pull away to down Patriots

MILO – Piscataquis Community of Guilford converted 10 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 50-40 high school boys basketball victory over rival Penquis Valley Wednesday.

Mike Wharff scored a game-high 17 points for the Pirates. Brandon London added 11 and Roy Burdin scored 10.

Kole Stevens led the Penquis Patriots with 15 points.
