NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. – A Maine man is charged with leading police on a chase through two states and a golf course.

Police say a Massachusetts State Police trooper stopped to help what he thought was a broken-down car on Interstate 95 early Sunday morning. After some kind of argument, the driver took off, heading north into New Hampshire.

In North Hampton, the car veered off the road, crashing through a fence at the Sagamore Golf Course. Tearing up the fairways, the sport utility vehicle continued onto another road, eventually getting stuck in wetlands.

Nicholas McDonald, 26, of Orrington, Maine, is charged with disobeying an officer, reckless conduct and criminal mischief.
