BANGOR – Ragged Moon, a high-energy blues-rock band of seasoned professionals, will perform 7-9 p.m. New Year’s Eve at Bagel Central, 33 Central St.
And the popular band Evergreen will offer bluegrass and more at 7, 8:30 and 10 p.m. at the Bangor Opera House, 131 Main St.
Those are just two of the many activities that will keep downtown jumping during the first evening-long New Year’s Eve celebration in the city on Sunday, Dec. 31. The evening is free.
The Downtown Countdown program offering music, dancing, films, games and kids’ activities in multiple venues gets off to a running start at 3 p.m. with the Epic Sports 5k “Finale” race. The cost of registration on Saturday is $10 at Epic Sports, $15 the day of the race. Call 941-5670 for more information.
Festivities wrap up with a Midnight Ball Drop in West Market Square.
The hours between are filled with concurrent activities in multiple venues, including fun for kids, jazz, blues, rock, chamber and bluegrass music, dancing, movies, games and a spaghetti dinner.
