Kelley, Keith keys as Hawks stop Vikings

HERMON – Ashley Kelley tossed in 12 points and Hillary Keith chipped in with 11 as Hermon held off Caribou 43-41 in high school girls basketball action Friday.

Erin Arnold finished with eight points and five steals for the Hawks.

Allie Richards led the Vikings with 11 points.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Jason Smith tallied four goals and Josh Hesseltine recorded a goal and three assists as the Coyotes topped the Ponies.

Old Town’s Ryan Daniel chipped in with a goal and two assists, while Pat Singer and Tyler Vandez each added a goal. Gary Johnson, Nick Covell and Matt Nadeau added an assist apiece. Jason Trask and Dan LeBreton combined for 22 saves on 26 shots.

Chase Hutchinson scored twice for Foxcroft. Dave Frasz had a goal and two assists and Nick Lovejoy added a goal. Chad Phillips made 26 saves on 34 shots.

Orono 3, Gardiner 0

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Chris McConnon, Eli Williams and Nathan Curtis netted a goal apiece for Orono in the win.

Tony Raymond, Sean Babin and Darren Casey-Covell provided assists for the 5-1-1 Red Riots. Jared Bussell stopped all 23 shots.

Chris Howe saved 34 of 37 shots for 3-2 Gardiner.
