Lee, Panthers rally for win in overtime

WALDOBORO – Stephanie Lee scored 14 of her game-high 17 points in the second half as Medomak Valley rallied from a 20-point halftime deficit and Anna Lufkin completed the comeback by scoring all five of the Panthers’ points in overtime as they knocked off Lincoln Academy of Newcastle 47-46 in high school girls basketball action Friday.

Lufkin finished with 14 points and Pam Neptune 11 rebounds and seven points.

Alex Donald’s 14 points and Kari Jones’ 12 paced the Eagles.

Old Town’s Ryan Daniel chipped in with a goal and two assists, while Pat Singer and Tyler Vandez each added a goal. Gary Johnson, Nick Covell and Matt Nadeau added an assist apiece. Jason Trask and Dan LeBreton combined for 22 saves on 26 shots.

Chase Hutchinson scored twice for Foxcroft. Dave Frasz had a goal and two assists and Nick Lovejoy added a goal. Chad Phillips made 26 saves on 34 shots.

At Calais, Robbie Rogers scored 14 points, Cal Shorey had 11 and Rod Tirrell tossed in 10 more as undefeated Calais cruised to its sixth win.
