Anglers looking to learn more about their pastime will get the chance beginning in January as the Penobscot Fly Fishers host beginner fly-tying classes in Bangor.
The first class is Thursday at 6 p.m. Classes will be held weekly for eight consecutive Thursdays through Feb. 22. All class sessions will be held at the Bangor Parks and Recreation building on lower Main Street.
The course fee is $30 and all equipment and materials will be provided. New to the popular course this year: a night covering fly-fishing equipment, including rods, reels, lines, waders, and float tubes. Depending on the availability of the gym, there may also be the opportunity to practice casting.
