Boys

Big School (Classes A-B)

CARLIN DUBAY

Dubay, a junior on the Caribou wrestling team, won the 103-pound weight class at the prestigious Noble Invitational tournament at North Berwick last weekend. The reigning Class B state champion in that weight class, Dubay defeated Dalton Groeger of Bonny Eagle of Standish 4-2 in the Noble title match to improve his record this season to 20-0.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JON PELLETIER

Pelletier, a junior on the Bucksport wrestling team, scored three straight victories by pinfall Saturday to win the 140-pound weight class at the Hermon Holiday Wrestling Classic. Pelletier, the 2006 Class C state champion at 130 pounds, is now 15-0 this season for the Golden Bucks.

Girls

Big School (Classes A-B)

SARAH RISSER

A junior on the Brewer indoor track and field team, Risser racked up two individual wins and anchored a winning relay to help the Witches gain an Eastern Maine Indoor Track League team win Thursday. Risser won the 60-yard dash (8.02 seconds), the 200-meter dash (28.83) and ran the final leg of the 4×220 relay which Brewer finished with a time of 1:56.31.

Small School (Classes C-D)

DEANNA MICHAUD

Michaud, a Stearns of Millinocket senior basketball forward, led the 5-2 Minutemen in scoring twice as Stearns picked up two wins. Michaud had 14 points, including the winning basket with 0.7 seconds left, as the Minutemen knocked off previously undefeated Houlton 42-40 on Dec. 27. She added 11 points in a 53-27 win Saturday over Penquis of Milo.
