Maine racewalkers excel at Texas camp

PHARR, Texas – Michael Boucher, 20, of Ellsworth led a contingent of four Maine athletes who excelled during an elite racewalk camp. He won his age group and was fourth overall in “The largest judged 5K racewalk in Texas,” finishing in 24 minutes, 2 seconds.

PHARR, Texas – Michael Boucher, 20, of Ellsworth led a contingent of four Maine athletes who excelled during an elite racewalk camp. He won his age group and was fourth overall in “The largest judged 5K racewalk in Texas,” finishing in 24 minutes, 2 seconds.

Christine Bernier of Auburn won her age group and was 23rd overall with a 28:53 clocking in her first 5K. Lauren Forgues, 14, of Boothbay won the one-mile walk and her 25:14 in the 5K was good for third place in her age group and 12th overall.

Matthew Forgues, 14, of Boothbay, was second in his age group and 10th overall in the 5K in 25:09.
