DYER BROOK – Chris Kirchner scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics outscored Southern Aroostook 21-12 in the period to pull away a 41-31 high school boys basketball victory Friday night.

Danny Hayes led all scorers with 14 points for the Eagles.

Colby Clark’s nine-point effort paced the Warriors.

At Bangor, junior guard Jon McAllian hit a game-tying 35-foot jumper as time expired in the fourth quarter, then scored six points in overtime as Bangor remained undefeated with a 61-57 victory over Mt. Blue of Farmington in a Class A boys basketball battle at Red Barry Gymnasium on Friday night.

After hitting his buzzer-beating 3-pointer, McAllian then scored Bangor’s first four points of overtime before senior guard Troy Jellison gave Bangor the lead for good at 56-53 with a 3-pointer from the left wing with 2:04 left in the extra period.

Senior forward Alex Gallant paced Bangor with 24 points and seven rebounds, while McAllian finished with 12 points and Lee Suvlu added 10. Ryan Weston grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the 9-0 Rams.

Sophomore guard Ben Russell and senior forward Isaiah Brathwaite each scored 14 points for 7-2 Mt. Blue, while senior point guard Art Trask added 11.
