FORT KENT – Jimmy Lopez scored 28 points and had five assists Sunday to lift the University of Maine-Fort Kent to an 83-67 men’s basketball victory over UMaine-Presque Isle.

Hamil Bassue had 16 points for the Bengals and Gediminas Sumyla added 10 points.

Mike Latchford led the Owls with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Travis Hovey scored 15 points and Anthony Wingate totaled 10 points.

Peter Lipka added nine points and 10 rebounds for the Rams.

The Eagles were led by Jason Harvey’s 12 points, four assists and three steals. All-tournament team member Martin Cleveland added 11 points while Tyler Muzzy grabbed 12 rebounds.

Husson shot only 29 percent from the field, including 19 percent in the first half.
