Simpson paces UMF women past Plymouth Husson men lose two at Carrabba’s Shootout

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Kari Simpson tallied 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Sunday to lift the University of Maine-Farmington to 75-65 women’s basketball victory over Plymouth State.

Karen Sirois and Caitlyn Laflin scored 16 points apiece for the Beavers. Amanda Byrne added 12 points.

Ashley White led Plymouth State with 13 points.

Friday night, Host Embry-Riddle beat Husson 75-58.

Peter Lipka added nine points and 10 rebounds for the Rams.

The Eagles were led by Jason Harvey’s 12 points, four assists and three steals. All-tournament team member Martin Cleveland added 11 points while Tyler Muzzy grabbed 12 rebounds.

Husson shot only 29 percent from the field, including 19 percent in the first half.
