The 11th Maine State Junior High School/Elementary Cheering Championships will be held Saturday, March 10 at the Bangor Auditorium, the Calais Recreation Department announced Monday.

The five-division competition follows the same rules and guidelines used at high school meets while schools will be put in divisions according to enrollments.

The registration deadline is Feb. 23. Those seeking a registration form or more information may contact the Calais Recreation Department at 454-2761.

The event is sponsored by Wal-Mart stores in Bangor, Calais and Presque Isle.
