WASHINGTON – The Maine Military Authority in Limestone was selected Monday to receive the Defense Logistics Agency’s Business Alliance Award for the Department of Defense Customer of the Year.

The award recognizes those who have demonstrated outstanding efforts to partner with the DLA and improve its mission of providing supplies and services to the U.S. military.

According to the Logistics Agency, the MMA was chosen because of the partnership it formed with the Red River Army Depot in Texas and the Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania.

As a result of the partnership, 5,438 multipurpose vehicles were produced and inventory levels were reduced by 83 percent.
