SEBAGO – Two 18-year-old students from Bridgton Academy were killed when their vehicle left the road and crashed into some trees, Maine State Police said Tuesday.

The car, which was carrying four people, went off Route 114 at about 10:25 p.m. Monday and sideswiped two large trees. Although the roads were slick at the time, Route 114 had been treated and excessive speed was a likely factor in the crash, Trooper Dan Hanson said.

Brian Doucette of Berwick and Patrick Reddy of Lynn, Mass., who were passengers, were killed in the crash, police said.

The driver, Owen Gill, 18, of Lakeville, Mass., was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was listed in critical condition. The other passenger, 19-year-old Matthew Scioli of North Reading, Mass., was treated and then released.
